Statue Liberty

How long is the ferry trip to the Statue of Liberty from New York?
I am visiting New York in August, and wondered how long the ferry trip is from New York to the Statue of Liberty? Also where do you get the ferry from?
The trip from Manhattan to Liberty Island takes about 12 to 15 minutes, however, since the ferry boat makes a stop on Ellis Island the trip double to about 20 minutes.
The ferry departs from Castle Clinton, which is located inside Battery Park. Take the #1, "R" or "W" subway lines (Red and Yellow Lines on the subway map) to South Ferry and when you exit the subway station follow the directional sign to the Castle Clinton.
Now, if you don't want to go to Liberty Island or Ellis Island, you can also take the Staten Island Ferry, which pass by the Statue on its way to a from Staten Island. The ferry is free and trip take about 15 minutes each way (30 minutes round trip). Again, you can take the #1, "R" or "W" subway lines (Red and Yellow Lines) to South Ferry were a connection the Staten Island Ferry can be made at street level.
I hope this information is very helpful.
Good luck
