Coin Cover
How much is this coin? It has no date on it?

I have a Dollar Coin with 999 Fine Silver. the front has a eagle with 13 stars and a shield covering the eagle. the back has the female lady on it and says liberty. What is strange is that the coin has no date on it. normally its under the lady. Is this rare? I found it in a old cabin

It is not a coin but what is called a "Silver Round". It is actually a medal. It maybe dollar sized but should not say dollar on it. In order to make owning an ounce of silver more attractive and some what a collectible, private mints make patriotic designs as well as Americana designs. It is a sales pitch in a way. You have One Ounce of .999 silver which is almost pure. They trade today mostly for the silver content. They sell for sometimes much more than they are worth silver wise. The value is what the spot price of silver is the day you sell it minus a percentage the dealer takes off as a profit. Some are quite nice and are really an art object. If this would catch on their values may go up. The problem is no one knows how scarce or rare some of them are due to the lack of catalogs and most important lack of mintage figures. Hope this helps.
